Sports equipment

These items are considered as part of the free baggage allowance. Remember that the sum of their three dimensions must not exceed 230 cm (90 inches) and its weight may not exceed 23 kg (50 lbs.) If you exceed these characteristics, they will be subject to space availability (Conditional/stand-by bag).

  • All equipment and their components must be properly protected for the trip. 

  • ​​For diving equipment, high intensity underwater lamps will be accepted only if the component that generates heat and the battery been packaged separately. All the batteries that have been removed must be protected against short circuits. Tanks must also travel empty.

Sporting equipment ​with extra charge

  • Extra cost applies for shipping on international flights.

  • ​Within Colombia and Peru (except for international connections) the combination of one piece of baggage and a bag with a maximum weight of 23 kg (50 lbs.) without charge is allowed. If you exceed the weight limit, the charges for excess baggage or extra piece apply as appropriate.


Understood as kite​, contr​ol bar, harness and wakeboards.​


You can check the first bag (paying the respective fee) as part of your baggage and take a maximum of three boards in one bag per passenger with a maximum weight of 32 kg (70 lbs.) and up to 3.7 meters (12 feet) l​​ong.*



It consists of a sail, a harness and the metal frame that supports the sail. One sail is allowed per bag with a maximum 32 ​kg (70 lbs.) and 5 meters long. Transporting this type of equipment can only be done on domestic flights within Colombia, except on flight operated by Fokker 50​.

*Within Ecuador a charge of USD 50 applies​ plus applicable taxes.​


To and from North Amer​ica​​

A charge of USD 125** applies, with the exception of Miami to San Jose, Costa Rica or San Jose Costa Rica to Miami, where a charge of USD 100** applies.

 

To and from Brazil

A charge of USD 50** for the first bag applies. From the second bag onwards a charge for extra p​iece of USD 125** applies with a maximum weight of 32 kilos ​(70 lbs.)​

For other international destinations USD 100** will be charged.

Charges for surfboards and kitesurf boards with regional airlines 

  • A maximum of one board is allowed per passenger, which must be less than 2 meters long. 

  • On flights operated by Cessna Caravan aircraft, the board must be transported outside its bag.

  • On flights operated by ATR aircraft only one board per bag is allowed.

  • On flights operated by Embraer 190​ planes you can take surf boards up to a maximum of 1.8 meters long.

  • ​A fee of USD 30** must be paid at the domestic airport (according to the destination: Honduras, Costa Rica and/or Guatemala).

​Restrictions

  • Damaged packaging, or packaging that does not resist handling will not be accepted. Damaged sporting equipment will not be accepted.

  • Sports equipment where the sum of the three dimensions exceed 230 centimeters (90 inches) or weighing more than 45 kg (100 lbs.) may only be transported by our freight service, subject to existing policies.

  • If the sporting item is checked as a piece of baggage in addition to the free baggage allowance a charge per extra piece will apply and it will be checked subject to space availability (Conditional/stand-by bag).
