Unaccompanied minors

We offer assistance and support before, during and after the flight for children from 5 to 17 years. Assistance to unaccompanied minors begins at the time they are received at the airport and ends when they are safely handed over to the designated person who is responsible for them at their final destination.

This service does not include medical care and no staff member or collaborator is authorized to supply medicinal products to minors.

Please note the documents required by some countries for minors traveling.

Before your trip

You must request the service through our call center from the time of booking up to 24 hours before departure. Your request must be confirmed for both the outbound and return flights, as there is a limit to the number of minors allowed per flight.

  • You must consult with the respective Departments of Immigration about the entry and exit requirements and/or authorizations required for minors at the country of origin and destination.

Therefore, when a minor is planning to travel on a connecting flight with an airline other than Avianca, and those routes are in the same contract of carriage, the persons responsible for the minor must verify the conditions and policies of the service of the other airline and the costs associated with that service (if applicable).
