The free baggage allowance policy will change for tickets issued as of April 3, 2017. You may transport one piece weighing a maximum of 23 kilograms (50 lbs) on Economy Class. 

 

Partners with LifeMiles status or Star Alliance Gold* ​level

If you have LifeMiles status (Silver, Gold and Diamond) and Star Alliance Gold level, you may transport the following pieces of baggage without additional cost and in any region.

Baggage with partner airlines

If your trip includes flights with our partner airlines with Codeshare or Interline agreements​ keep in mind that​:

  • ​The baggage policy of the airline that made the first intercontinental crossing (between America and Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania) will be respected.
  • On failure to comply with the above condition, the policy of the airline that makes the first subzone crossing will be respected. For example: from North to Central America.
  • In case the aforementioned conditions are not met, the policy of the airline making the first international crossing will be respected

Please note

For flights to and from the United States the policy of the first airline who sells the flight applies, according to the DOT regulations.

Restricted items as checked baggage

Items such as electronic cigarettes, barometers, mercury thermometers, lithium batteries or similar objects are not allowed on your checked baggage since they are considered dangerous in the cargo haul. These items may only be carried on your carry-on baggage.
