MIAMI, May 20, 2026 – Avianca was recognized with the Best Seating – South America award for its INSIGNIA by Avianca product during the 2026 PAX Readership Awards. The recognition is considered one of the industry’s most prestigious honors, as PAX Tech magazine celebrates excellence in cabin interiors, inflight entertainment, and customer experience based on direct voting from its readers and aviation industry experts worldwide.
In this edition, the award recognized the airline’s Flatbed seats, which feature 180-degree recline capabilities, direct aisle access, and integrated entertainment systems with 16-inch screens.
This is complemented by an elevated comfort experience: passengers receive a rest kit with a blanket and pillow, as well as an amenity kit featuring collectible cases designed by Mola Sasa in collaboration with the Gunadule Indigenous community, including personal care products from Loto del Sur. Passengers also enjoy an exclusive menu created by renowned Colombian chef Álvaro Clavijo, whose restaurant El Chato has been recognized in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants ranking. Through high-end culinary techniques at 36,000 feet, the menu pays tribute to local flavors and Colombian gastronomy.
INSIGNIA by Avianca is the brand created to define the airline’s Business Class experience on routes connecting Latin America and Europe. The offering raises traditional standards by delivering a journey where exclusivity, comfort, and personalization take center stage, surrounding travelers in an atmosphere of warmth and elegance.
“This award reaffirms our commitment to elevating the customer experience. INSIGNIA by Avianca is not just a cabin; it is an offering where sophistication is delivered in a personalized way, complemented by exceptional attention to detail. Being recognized by readers and industry experts motivates us to continue innovating,” said Katherine Stradaioli, Senior Vice President of Customer Experience at Avianca.
This milestone adds to the company’s recent achievements, including Favorite Airline in South and Central America (The Trazees 2025) and Preferred Airline in Central and South America (Flyers’ Choice Awards 2025). In addition, the LifeMiles loyalty program has received multiple nominations at the 2026 Freddy Awards, including Program of the Year and Customer Service.
The award reinforces Avianca’s commitment to delivering a world-class product that balances luxury with efficiency, meeting the needs of international travelers.
