Avianca Announces Ticket Sales for Three New Routes Connecting to and From the United States
- The company has launched ticket sales for three new direct routes: Tampa to Bogotá as a new destination, Fort Lauderdale to Medellín, and Miami to San José (Costa Rica).
- The new international routes will begin operations on March 30 and will be served by Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers.
- Customers wishing to purchase tickets can do so starting today through avianca.com, the mobile app, physical sales points, and travel agencies.
Miami, January 7, 2025. Avianca announced the launch of ticket sales for three new routes that will enable more travelers to connect directly to and from the United States starting March 30: Tampa-Bogotá, Fort Lauderdale-Medellín, and Miami-San José (Costa Rica).
The new routes will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers.
Avianca will offer four weekly flights with 1,440 seats available on the Tampa-Bogotá route; daily flights with 2,520 seats weekly on the Fort Lauderdale-Medellín route, and daily flights with 2,520 seats weekly on the Miami-San José (Costa Rica) route.
"After 2024, in which we consolidated the most extensive network in our history and transported the highest number of passengers in our 105 years, we are thrilled to continue strengthening connectivity to and from the United States. We are also excited to introduce Tampa as a new destination. Tampa: A New Destination for Travelers
Tampa is one of Florida’s major cities, and this historic connection Avianca seeks to operate for the first time will provide travelers with more opportunities for direct travel. Travelers in Tampa will be able to connect through Bogotá to over 75 destinations in more than 25 countries across the Americas and Europe. Additionally, they will have access to 25 domestic destinations in Colombia, providing convenient connections to cities such as Medellín, Cartagena, Cali, Quibdó, San Andrés, and Leticia.
