Social management
Our aircraft are tools for transformation in the communities and regions where we fly. We drive change by striving to improve quality of life through opportunities for the comprehensive development of the communities where we operate.
Your miles have the power to transform lives
As a Lifemiles member, your miles can do more than take you to incredible destinations, they can create real change. Through the Miles Bank, you can support Social Organizations committed to provide opportunities and improving lives. Turn your miles into something meaningful and helpful:

The sky belongs to everyone when we can deliver well-being and development
At avianca, we believe the sky belongs to everyone when we can generate well-being and development. Our aircraft are more than transportation: they are wings that carry doctors, scientists, veterinarians, children, women, and specialists to remote territories, where their work transforms lives. Thanks to our social and environmental alliances and the Miles Bank, every flight becomes a real opportunity for health, humanitarian support, and a future for communities.
In 2025, we strengthened this commitment with more than 26 strategic alliances, support for more than 45,000 people, over 60 dreams fulfilled with Make-A-Wish, more than 150 organs transported for transplant between Colombia and Ecuador, more than 600 veterinary interventions alongside Ruta Animal, and the transport of more than 33 tons of recyclable waste to protect ecosystems such as Leticia, Galápagos, and San Andrés.

Strategy for the Prevention of Human Trafficking and the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (CSEC)
At avianca, we believe that flying is more than connecting destinations: it is protecting lives and raising our voice for those who cannot. That is why we joined efforts to prevent human trafficking and CSEC together with Fundación Renacer and the Office of the Attorney General of Colombia.
Since 2023, we have carried this message onboard with an information card, in-flight announcements, and campaigns in Medellín and Cartagena, allowing more than 550,000 passengers to receive awareness messages by 2025. Additionally, more than 1,400 crew members have been trained to identify warning signs and act with warmth and care in possible cases.
Throughout 2025, we conducted awareness performances at the airports of Barranquilla and Cartagena and at a school in Medellín; installed 5 totems in the Plaza del Reloj to alert tourists; and participated in official forums in Bogotá and El Salvador.
Additionally, we are distributing 1,500 notebooks with key messages and action guidelines for our operational teams. At avianca, we don’t just transport people: we protect their dreams and firmly say NO to human trafficking and CSEC.
Ecomochilas: A second use that transforms lives
This is a circularity project born from the alliance between Avianca Cargo, Expeditors, Mola Sasa, and Deprisa, demonstrating how strategic partnerships can turn operational challenges into opportunities for transformation. The initiative gives a second life to unused uniforms, converting them into school kits that support learning and strengthen the development of children and young people in vulnerable situations.
In 2025 we achieved:
- More than 11,400 unused uniforms recovered and transformed into new purpose-driven products.
- 3,292 tons of textiles diverted from becoming waste and reintegrated into the production chain through a circularity approach.
- 5,700 school kits delivered to children and young people in vulnerable situations, promoting equity and strengthening educational processes.
- The initiative reached 13 cities and municipalities in Colombia with the support of social partners ABACO, Aldeas Infantiles SOS, and Colegio Fernando Borrero Caicedo (Fundación Élite Flowers).
Avianca Corporate Volunteering Program
The program is a space where, through the donation of work hours, our employees reaffirm their commitment to social and environmental causes. It strengthens well-being, empathy, and the pride of belonging to a company that believes in the power of taking action to drive real change. Through a broad and flexible portfolio, participants can choose how to engage based on their time, interests, and skills—demonstrating that every hour can transform lives, communities, and environments.
Volunteering modalities:
<div style="margin-bottom:16px;"></div>
- Social: Health brigades, food packing, fulfilling dreams, and water projects with partners such as TECHO, ABACO, Make-A-Wish, and Fundación Operación Sonrisa.
- Environmental: Tree planting, turtle release, and habitat restoration with partners such as Saving the Amazon, environmental agencies, and Fondo Acción.
- Neighboring communities: Educational activities for children near airports, bringing them closer to the world of aviation.
- Mentoring: Spaces to share knowledge and strengthen skills through programs such as Mentoring Well, Technical Mentoring, Traditional Mentoring, and Reverse Mentoring.

Avianca Corporate Volunteering is more than a program: it is a network of people who believe in the power of acting, serving, and transforming. Each experience strengthens our culture of empathy and commitment, proving that when we come together, flying higher also means reaching further.
When everyone belongs, we go further
We are more than 15,000 employees located in over 25 countries, making diversity a strength that enriches us.
We work to foster an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and recognized. At avianca, we believe we must all adopt the following behaviors:
<div style="margin-bottom:16px;"></div>
- Treat each other with dignity and respect.
- Treat our customers, suppliers, and partners with the same respect.
- Create a space and culture that nurtures and is enriched by our differences.
- Do not tolerate intolerance.
- Be a constant example of inclusion and openness in the societies where we operate.
- Promote equal opportunities in our processes and policies.
accessible avianca
Our main goal is to identify, prioritize, and eliminate the barriers encountered by travelers with different types of disabilities throughout their journey: from the moment they imagine a trip, book it, arrive at the airport, board the aircraft, and through every stage after the flight.
The sky belongs to everyone, and that’s why we aim to learn from all ways of flying, aligning all actors in the travel experience to create more accessible air transportation. Our goal is to ensure a safe and inclusive experience for all travelers, complying with regulations in the countries where we operate and ensuring a journey adapted to each person’s needs.
Accessibility strategy:
Using common sense, empathy, and universal design as key principles to create societal change, we recognize that progress is made step by step. That’s why we choose progress over perfection. Building accessible and inclusive air transportation is a shared responsibility across the industry, and we aim for cost-efficient initiatives that benefit the majority rather than expensive solutions that impact only a few.
Raising awareness, training our teams, redesigning processes, using available technological solutions, and improving infrastructure are our tools to advance toward an accessible society and accessible air travel for people with disabilities.
Accessibility throughout the entire journey
With 50+ implemented actions, we achieved measurable results in both awareness and internal training, as well as direct benefits for passengers. Here are some examples:
- Consolidation of the External Accessibility Committee with expert individuals and partner organizations.
- 6,500+ employees trained in supporting travelers with intellectual, psychosocial, or neurodivergent disabilities.
- Redesign of the special assistance webpage with disability-specific and journey-stage-specific information: Accessibility and Assistance.
- New option in the purchase process to indicate intellectual, psychosocial, or neurodivergent disability.
- Accessible ramps built with service providers in Cartagena and Valledupar to reduce stair use, benefiting 1,200+ travelers.
- 92 A32S aircraft with higher-contrast row/seat signage and braille numbering.
- 11 educational videos for employees on mobility, autism, visual impairment, and hearing impairment.
- Accessibility Service Guide for airport agents and cabin crew with clear guidelines and tools for interacting with travelers with disabilities.
- Improved onboard announcement for flights with stair disembarkation, making it clearer and more descriptive.
- Pilot of a technological orientation solution inside airports in Bogotá and New York (JFK).
