  • You must have a valid Lifemiles number linked to your reservation.
  • The reservation may include a maximum of 2 passengers. Each upgrade benefit applies per passenger and per flight segment.
  • The ticket must be issued and operated by Avianca under a Classic or Flex fare.
  • If the reservation includes two or more tickets associated with the same passenger, or more than four flight segments, you must contact our Contact Center to submit your upgrade request.
  • The reservation must not include infants and/or pets.
  • All upgrade requests are subject to availability and may not be granted due to operational reasons.
  • If you have an Avianca Lifemiles credit card, please check with your bank through its official channels to confirm whether this benefit is available to you.
  • For all flights operated with INSIGNIA Business Class, regardless of the region, the elite benefit will be deducted from the member's INSIGNIA balance. In the event of an itinerary change from a flight offering Business Class Americas or Domestic Routes Business Class to a flight offering INSIGNIA Business Class, the system will verify the elite member's available INSIGNIA balance. If no balance is available, the upgrade request or confirmation will be canceled and the corresponding benefit will be refunded.
  • A confirmed upgrade to Business Class 48 hours before departure includes an allowance of one checked bag. During check-in, Elite members will receive any additional baggage allowance according to their membership tier.
  • By submitting an upgrade request, you agree to the Terms and Conditions.
