Avianca and Ntional Express

Avianca travelers may now gain access to ground connections within the United Kingdom with a preferential rate included in their air ticket. 

 

Bogota, June 22, 2016. As a result of the collaboration agreement entered into with National Express, Avianca now offers passengers travelling to the United Kingdom the possibility to make ground connections to more than 25 destinations serviced by the bus company within the country. 

In this way, passengers arriving with Avianca to the London-Heathrow Airport have the option of making connections through National Express to destinations such as Bath Spa, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Cheltenham Spa, Colchester, Coventry, Exeter, Leicester, Milton Keynes, Newport (South Wales), Norwich, Nottingham, Oxford, Plymouth, Poole, Ringwood, Southampton, Swansea, Swindon, Taunton and Winchester. Soon, the agreement will also include transfers to London airports such as Gatwick, Luton and Stansted. 

Purchasing and issuing the ticket. Passengers that have acquired a ticket combining both modes of transportation must obtain the National Express boarding card at the ‘Check In’ section at www.accesrail.com within 72 hours prior to departure of the bus. When the first segment of the trip is done via air, the passenger must have the airplane ticket as well as the printed National Express boarding card.

Schedules and baggage. Arrival and departure flight itineraries to and from London are aligned with the schedules arrange by National Express for their buses. The intermodal connection is facilitated since the Central Bus Station is located at Terminal 2 at Heathrow Airport (where Avianca operates) as well as in Terminal 3. 

The baggage policy for bus travel is the same as Avianca’s. This means, two, 23-kilo pieces of luggage for passengers travelling in Economy Class, and two, 32-kilo pieces of luggage for Business Class passengers. 

Operation between Bogota and London. The airline connects the capital cities of Colombian and United Kingdom with one daily and direct flight between El Dorado International Airport and London-Heathrow International Airport, offering more than 3,500 seats per week between these markets.
