Waldorf salad

This iconic salad was created by the chefs of the famous Waldorf-Astoria Hotel of New York, and represents the mixture of cultures that has taken place in the world’s capital. Make it at home:

    Ingredients

  • 200 g of white celery 
  • 2 red apples 
  • 2 tablespoons of shelled walnuts
  • Juice of one lemon
  • 2 tablespoons of diced parsley
  • 1 1/4 oz. mayonnaise
  • 1 1/4 oz. heavy cream

    Directions:

  1. Finely dice the celery and sprinkle with lemon juice. 
  2. Peel the fruit and mix it with the celery and lemon to keep it from turning brown. 
  3. Dice the walnuts and the cilantro. 
  4. Mix everything in a bowl with the mayonnaise and heavy cream. Refrigerate. 
  5. Serve chilled, over lettuce leaves. 
  6. Enjoy!
