Avianca recognized with two awards at the APEX Awards

Avianca Airlines: Best Regional Airline in South America and Best Food and Drink in South America. Five Star, Major Regional Airline.

More than one million flights were rated by passengers across nearly 500 airlines from around the world, being Avianca Airlines chosen as the Best Airline in South America and the airline with the best food and beverages. 

The APEX Passenger Choice Awards are based on passenger feedback gathered through APEX’s partnership with TripIt® from Concur®, the world’s highest-rated travel-organizing app.

United States, May 8th, 2019. In the recent APEX Passenger Choice Awards, Avianca Airlines received two 2019 Passenger Choice Awards™ for Best Major Regional Carrier in South America and Best Food & Beverage in South America. Also, Avianca achieved Five Star, Major Regional Airline recognition. These awards are the result of more than one million flights qualified by passengers of around 500 airlines around the world, between July 1, 2017 and June 31, 2018.

The APEX Passenger Choice Awards are based on passenger feedback gathered through APEX’s partnership with TripIt® from Concur®, the world’s highest-rated travel-organizing app. 

Using a five-star scale, more than one million flights were rated by passengers across nearly 500 airlines from around the world between 1 July 2017 and 31 June 2018. First, passengers rated their overall flight experience from one to five stars. On the same screen, passengers were given the opportunity to provide anonymous ratings in five subcategories: seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, entertainment, and Wi-Fi. The single screen rating allows airline passengers to easily rate their flight in less than 15 seconds.

The award was received in Los Angeles city by Rolando Damas, Managing Director North America & Asia, who commented: "These important recognitions are the result of the excellence and professionalism of all the work teams of most of 19 thousand employees, duly trained and committed to the effective attention of the needs and desires of those who choose Avianca Airlines for their work and/or pleasure trips. “This APEX recognition reflects without a doubt the preference and loyalty of our passengers and encourages us to continue working with that Latin excellence that characterizes us. The Passenger Choice Awards were independently certified by a professional external auditing company hired by APEX.
