Beginning May 31, Avianca offers special fares and promotional packages from Washington to the mythic walled city of Cartagena
Avianca offers its passengers 280 thousand seats to Cartagena from different destinations of its route network
In order to meet tourists interest in visiting Cartagena, one of Colombia’s touristic icons, Avianca, the Cartagena Tourism Corporation, the Cartagena Hotel Asociation (Asolteca), Cotelco Cartagena and the Coast Airport Company SA (SACSA) launch the tourism campaign “Fall in love with Cartagena”, offering 280 thousand seats from 32 destinations within Avianca’s route network.
Within the campaign Avianca offers tourists special prices to travel and enjoy this wonderful city, departing from diverse destinations in North, Central, and South America, the Caribbean, and Europe.
The fare to travel from Washington to Cartagena, via Avianca’s hub in Bogota, starts from US$419 roundtrip, including fees and taxes. The sale begins on May 31 and ends on June 9, 2016, to travel between August 2nd and November 30, 2016. Restricted travel dates for this promotion are between June 25 and July 13, between October 14 and 16 departing from Washington and between August 13 and 31, and between October 6 and 13 departing from Cartagena.
“Tourism is very important for the airline and one of the main industries of the economies of the countries we serve. Cartagena de Indias is one of Colombia’s most emblematic destinations. It is recognized by its history, defined by the silhouette of the city due to its constructions and fortresses, which sought to stop the advance of the pirates in the XVI Century.
Furthermore, because of its beaches and warm weather, the city is top as an important destination, being recognized also as a World Heritage City”, stated Rolando Damas, Avianca’s Commercial Director for North America and Asia.
“Developing attractive and competitive options to promote destinations such as Cartagena in 32 destinations within Avianca’s route network is a challenge that we trust will be well received by the market. We are interested in enabling our passengers to know our destinations, fall in love with them, have fun and live unforgettable experiences. We look to increase passenger flow through an integral commercial effort jointly coordinated with city tourism organizations and service providers and generate a wider awareness of the options Cartagena has to offer”, added Damas.
The airline offers vacation packages that include airline ticket, accommodation, city tours and transportation, among other options. The packages are available for sale between May 31 and June 30, to travel between June 11 and June 30, 2016. Packages are available through travel agencies.
