Rolls Royce is currently inspecting all its Trent 1000 installed on B787’s in airlines around the world
Bogota, April 20, 2018. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) have issued a directive for all airlines operating Boeing 787 aircraft equipped with Trent 1000 Package C engines by British manufacturer Rolls Royce.
This guideline requests airlines to perform inspections and regular monitoring of this type of engine; in addition, transoceanic flights must have an alternate airport within 140 minutes of flight time.
Upon notification, Avianca began inspecting the 12 Boeing 787 – 800 aircraft in its fleet with expert Rolls Royce and Boeing technicians. These inspections have resulted in no events, ant the B787 fleet will continue operating normally according to requests made by the authorities.
The airline is working to fulfill its commitment with passengers with flights operated on this fleet and will inform in due time of any modification to the itineraries.
