Free baggage allowance is what you can take in the plane’s cargo hold without paying for an additional cost. The number of allowed pieces of luggage, their dimensions and their characteristics depend on the region which you are travelling to and from.
There are changes to the baggage policy for tickets issued as of April 3, 2017.
On flights to and from Europe, in Economy Class you can take for free 2 pieces of 23 kg each. In Business Class you can take for free 2 pieces of 32 kg each. On flights between Central America, South America and the Caribbean, in Economy Class, you can carry 1 piece with a maximum weight of 23 kg (50 pounds).
If you are a LifeMiles Gold or Diamond member or you are a Star Alliance Gold Status member, you can take the following pieces of baggage to any region, without additional cost.
2 pieces weighing 23 kg (50 lbs) each.
2 pieces weighing 32 kg (70 lbs) each.
If you are a LifeMiles Gold or Diamond member or you are a Star Alliance Gold Status member, you can take the following pieces of baggage without additional cost and to any region.
2 pieces weighing 23kilograms (50 pounds) each.
2 pieces weighing 32 kilograms (70 pounds) each.

Learn about the special conditions for checked baggage if you do not have LifeMiles or Star Alliance status. Remember that the sum of the external dimensions (height + length + width) cannot exceed 158 cm (62 in).
