Bogota, December 2, 2025– Avianca reports that, after an uninterrupted and coordinated effort, it successfully completed the software update ordered by Airbus on all A320 aircraft that required it.
Following the manufacturer’s announcement, a team of more than 2,500 specialized airline technicians worked around the clock to update the software on all 124 aircraft, always prioritizing the highest safety standards.
Meanwhile, Avianca’s team worked continuously to minimize the impact on 42,939 passengers affected across 293 domestic and international flights, providing rebookings, refunds, and date changes at no additional cost.
Additionally, Avianca confirms that sales are now open for flights operating starting this Thursday.
Once again, the airline thanks affected customers for their patience and understanding during this force majeure event, which impacted the industry globally.
It also extends its gratitude to authorities and industry partners for their collaboration and teamwork, which enabled the airline to complete the necessary work quickly and resume normal operations.
