Grupo Abra and Aerolíneas Argentinas Expand Cooperation with New Bilateral Codeshare Agreement

  • The codeshare agreement that GOL has maintained with Aerolíneas Argentinas since 2014 will now be extended to include Avianca operations.
  • The agreement covers 9 cities in Colombia and 12 in Argentina, and also extends the interline agreement to provide access to 30 new destinations across the Caribbean, Central, and South America.

Bogotá/Buenos Aires, December 9, 2025. Grupo Abra and Aerolíneas Argentinas announced a new bilateral codeshare agreement that will strengthen air connectivity between Colombia and Argentina.

Under this initiative, passengers of Avianca and Aerolíneas Argentinas will benefit from a single ticket for travel on both airlines, one streamlined check-in, and smoother, more efficient connections across multiple destinations in Colombia, Argentina, and other countries in the region.

Avianca will offer connections from Buenos Aires to the following cities in Argentina: Bahía Blanca, Bariloche, Comodoro Rivadavia, El Calafate, Mar del Plata, Mendoza, Neuquén, Rosario, Ushuaia, Iguazú, Salta, and Tucumán.

Aerolíneas Argentinas will offer connections from Bogotá to the following cities in Colombia: San Andrés, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cartagena, Cúcuta, Medellín, Pereira, and Santa Marta.

In addition, the existing interline agreement is being expanded to include 18 destinations in Argentina and Brazil, operated by Aerolíneas Argentinas, and 12 destinations in Central and South America, operated by Avianca.

Both airlines will continue working together to obtain the necessary approvals for the full implementation of the agreement.

Fabián Lombardo, CEO of Aerolíneas Argentinas, said, “This new step in our partnership with Avianca allows us to continue building a stronger regional network, offering our passengers better options and a more competitive service.

Adrian Neuhauser, CEO of Abra, said, “We are very pleased to sign this agreement with Aerolíneas Argentinas, as it will strengthen connectivity for our Avianca customers in the Southern Cone, bring Argentina and Colombia closer together, and continue building our project to increase competition in the region so that customers have more and better options.”

It is worth noting that this initiative is part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Aerolíneas Argentinas and Grupo Abra in October 2023, reaffirming both parties’ commitment to building a stronger, more competitive regional network with increased options for customers.
