Avianca Reports Steady Progress Reaching 51% Completion on Airbus-Mandated Software Update

Bogotá, November 29, 2025— The Avianca team has been working continuously to carry out the modifications required by Airbus as quickly as possible, assist passengers, and advance the full recovery of operations.

As of today, 51% of the A320 fleet has been fully updated with the required software, and work by specialized technicians is expected to be completed in the coming days.

In the meantime, customers who had flights scheduled for today were offered available rebooking options, either with Avianca or with partner airlines with which the company has commercial agreements.

Additionally, if these options do not fit their travel plans, customers may:

  • Reschedule their travel date without paying a penalty or fare difference, subject to availability, to fly up to 180 days after the original flight date, through the Contact Center.
  • Request a refund for the unused segments:
-If tickets were purchased through avianca.com, the Contact Center, or Avianca direct sales points, the request may be managed through avianca.com.
-If purchased through a travel agency, customers must contact the agency directly.

The airline recommends:

  • Checking communications sent via the email associated with the reservation or through our official channels.
  • Reviewing flight status at avianca.com
  • Avoid going to airports if the flight is not confirmed.

It is important to note that Avianca continues to keep sales closed for travel dates through December 8, inclusive, to prevent further impact and prioritize rebooking for customers who have already purchased tickets.

Avianca’s entire team is working to restore full operational normality as quickly as possible.
