Avianca invests more than USD 800 million to strengthen the network, fleet, service and customer experience

  • These enhancements support the model that allows customers to choose how to fly, offering options like competitive prices and premium services.
  • So far this year, the airline has transported 17.6 million passengers (8.8 reported in each quarter).
  • The strengthening of Avianca Cargo, the leader in the region, and Lifemiles, with more than 14 million members, continues.

Bogotá, October 9. In order to strengthen its fleet, improve the customer experience, and consolidate its growth, avianca is carrying out an investment of more than USD 800 million in 2025.

This investment is being allocated to projects that will directly impact the traveler experience:

Network and fleet expansion: Thirteen new routes have been announced for 2025, representing a 13% increase in connectivity. To support this expansion and growing demand, the airline will add an additional six aircraft to its fleet by the end of 2025.

Product and service improvements: the investment includes strengthening “INSIGNIA by avianca” in Europe and expanding Business Class to more than 80 routes in the Americas. In addition, new VIP lounges will be opened and a priority check-in service will be implemented for Lifemiles customers.

“This investment of over USD 800 million demonstrates our unwavering commitment to the customer. Our model works by offering competitive options and an expanding premium experience. That’s why we’re actively investing in more aircraft, in an unprecedented routes network, and fundamentally, in the quality of the travel experience,” stated Frederico Pedreira, CEO of avianca.

Investments in its business units:

Avianca’s investment also extends to its business units, strengthening its market position and enhancing its value proposition.

Lifemiles: The investment is aimed at offering more benefits for its members, as well as improving and opening new VIP lounges, strengthening the customer experience beyond the flight.

Avianca Cargo: The airline is strengthening its position in the cargo market. The strategy includes increasing its fleet of cargo aircraft, especially the A330F, and increasing the frequency of flights to improve connectivity and transport capacity.

The airline operates as part of Abra Group, together with Gol and Wamos, with a combined fleet of 300 aircraft. The business units, Avianca Cargo and Lifemiles (with more than 14 million members), become stronger and contribute to the company’s strategic growth.
