As part of its customer value proposition:
Bogota, february 2, 2026. Avianca announced an update to its fare conditions applicable to tickets purchased on or after January 27, 2026. Effective immediately, Light fares on international flights across the Americas will include—among their built‑in attributes—one personal item and one carry-on bag of up to 10 kg. This update is incorporated into the overall set of product benefits, while other services remain available as optional add‑ons, depending on each customer’s preferences.
On domestic routes, Avianca will continue offering the Basic fare, which includes one personal item, maintaining a differentiated fare structure tailored to the specific characteristics of these markets.
The implementation of this update to Avianca’s customer value proposition builds on other advancements the airline has introduced throughout 2026, including the expansion of Business Class Americas across its entire network—spanning domestic flights in Colombia, Ecuador, and Guatemala—enhancements to ground services such as Insignia by Avianca check‑in, the renovation of VIP lounges, and the progressive rollout of onboard Wi-Fi connectivity.
“We continue to evolve our value proposition to offer clear and competitive options that align with different travel needs. The inclusion of carry-on baggage in the Light fare for international flights is part of that process and integrates seamlessly with the rest of the product attributes,” said Otto Gergye, Avianca’s Chief Commercial Officer.
Fare conditions apply based on the ticket purchase date and do not affect benefits associated with other fare types. Tickets with the updated conditions are now available through avianca.com, the mobile app, the Contact Center, and travel agencies.
