Flight changes

  • Fare difference: the monetary difference between the fare you originally purchased and the new one you select (applies to all fares).

  • Change fee: additional charges that apply when you voluntarily change your flight (only applies to Basic, Light, Classic, and Business Classic fares).

  • Flex and Business Flex fares allow changes before departure without a change fee. However, fare differences and taxes may apply.

Refunds

  • Applies to Flex and Business Flex fares before departure.
  • Refunds after the flight are not permitted for any fare, except in the event of operational disruptions.
  • Refund conditions apply solely to the amount paid for the fare. Taxes, fees, and charges will be refunded in accordance with applicable legal provisions and as stipulated in the Contract of Carriage.
  • All our fares (Basic, Light, Classic, Flex, and Business Classic), except Business Flex, are promotional.
  • Additional services you purchase and choose not to use are refundable only if your fare is Flex or Business Flex. If the services were not provided due to airline-related reasons, they are refundable for all fares.

  • You are required to use all segments of your itinerary as booked. You may not stop at a connection city without continuing to your final destination. If you choose not to complete your itinerary, the journey will be deemed completed from the point of origin to the scheduled final destination. No refund will be granted for unused segments, except for taxes, fees, and charges not incurred and refundable under the applicable regulations for those segments.

Payment Verification

  • Your purchase may require security verification. If so, be sure to check the email you’ll receive with the next steps. On your travel day, you must present at the airport the card used for payment. If you don’t have it, you’ll need to pay again with another card or you won’t be able to board. Learn more.

Onboard Experience

  • The INSIGNIA by avianca Business Class experience applies only on flights between El Salvador or Colombia and Europe.
  • The maximum seat recline in Business Class may vary depending on the aircraft type.
  • Business Class, Business Class (Flatbed), or Premium seats (depending on the aircraft operating the route) are included in the business fare with all benefits.

Flights operated by Clic Air S.A. from or connecting in Bogotá

  • If your flight is under our codeshare agreement (flight numbers 2900 to 2999), you must go to Terminal 2 (Puente Aéreo) on the day of your trip.
  • If your flight is outside this range, it will be operated by Clic Air S.A. for avianca Express and you must go to Terminal 1 (El Dorado Airport) on your travel day. These flights do not offer onboard sales service.

lifemiles accrual

  • The fare amount used to calculate miles does not include taxes, fees, or additional services.
  • elite members earn additional miles, with bonus percentages based on status: diamond 80%, gold 60%, silver 20%, and redplus 10%.
  • The fare price used to calculate the miles does not include taxes, fees, or additional services.
  • Miles accrual only applies if your flight is operated by Avianca. 
  • Elite members earn additional miles. The elite bonus depends on the member’s status: Diamond 80%, Gold 60%, Silver 20%, and RedPlus 10%.
  • Miles may be accrued from the start of membership, once you obtain your LifeMiles number. The number of miles to be accrued depends on the program’s accrual conditions in effect at the time the services are used.
  • To ensure miles are accrued for any applicable transaction, you must provide your LifeMiles number when booking with Avianca. You must keep your flight documents until the miles have been credited to your account.
  • If you are a member, you can monitor your miles accrual through account statements sent monthly to your registered email (if provided) or at LifeMiles.com. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that your earned miles are correctly credited to your account. Avianca may request supporting documents, which may include boarding passes, receipts, invoices, or others.
  • Any claim regarding your LifeMiles account statement must be submitted within twelve (12) months after the transaction. Claims will not be accepted after that time. To request the credit of unregistered miles, contact the Call Center (option 3) or visit an Avianca sales point.
  • Miles may be credited for past transactions that meet the established requirements up to twelve (12) months after the transaction date, according to the terms and conditions set forth herein, and upon presentation of required supporting documentation. LifeMiles reserves the right to verify all documentation submitted for late credits. Retroactive credit is not allowed for flights operated by partner airlines or for any transactions with partner merchants or entities made before the member’s enrollment in the program.
  • Flights eligible for miles redemption are those operated by Avianca.
  • Avianca reserves the right to change available routes and/or flights for ticket redemption without prior notice.
  • LifeMiles Terms and Conditions apply and are subject to change without notice.
  • Applies to all members regardless of status.
  • You may allow others to enjoy upgrades obtained with your miles. The person redeeming the upgrade must be the miles owner.
  • Upgrades may only be redeemed through the Contact Center, after the ticket has been issued.
  • Upgrades are granted subject to availability in Business Class upgrade inventory (Class I).
  • Avianca reserves the right to change the number of miles required, routes, and available flights for Business Class upgrade redemption without prior notice.
