Additional services are not reusable unless due to involuntary causes (situations beyond the control of the customer or the airline).
You will have the option to request a refund of the additional services you purchased and did not use, only if your fare is Flex or Business and if you requested the refund of the ticket to which they are associated, before the flight departure. Iké travel assistance continues to be refundable with an additional charge if coverage has not started, once the flight has started, no refunds are accepted.
If you purchased baggage for a flight to or from the United States, and we were unable to provide the service, you can request the refund. Learn about the exceptions where the request would not apply.
Earning Lifemiles with additional services
Applies to new baggage purchases for flights between March 11 and March 31, 2026, on routes operated by Avianca. The lower price is compared to the purchase price at check-in and/or at the airport. For flights to/from the USA and Canada, the purchase of the 1st piece will have up to a 45% lower price if purchased up to 24 hours before the flight. For other international routes, the purchase of the 1st piece will have up to a 33% lower price if purchased up to 48 hours before the flight. The price of additional checked bags may vary depending on the route and time of purchase. Not applicable to flights to/from Europe or between North America and Ecuador.
